Spiced Up Spicy Margarita

Spiced Up Spicy Margarita

Ingredients:

  •  2 ounces blanco tequila
  • 1 -ounce fresh lime juice
  • ounce of Triple Sec or Cointreau
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup (or agave nectar)
  • 1-2 slices jalapeño pepper, thinly sliced (seeds optional)
  • Secret Sauce  for rim
  •  Lime wedge
  • Ice

Instructions:

  1. Rim the glass: Pour a thin layer of Secret Sauce onto a small plate. Rub the rim of your margarita glass with a lime wedge and then dip the rim into the Secret Sauce (this will add smoke and additional heat)
  2. Muddle the jalapeno: In a cocktail shaker, muddle the jalapeno slices with a muddler (or the back of a spoon) to release their flavor.
  3. Combine and shake: Add the tequila, lime juice, triple sec or Cointreau, simple syrup, and ice to the shaker. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
  4. Strain and serve: Strain the margarita into your prepared glass. Garnish with a lime wedge and an additional jalapeno slice (optional).

Tips:

  • For a sweeter margarita, add a bit more simple syrup to taste.
  • Grand Mariner is another citrus liquor option.
  • The seeds in the jalapeno contain most of the heat. If you want a milder drink, remove the seeds before slicing.
  • For extra heat you can use Spiced Up Spicy Style BBQ Rub!!
