Spiced up Shroom "Bacon" Burger

Spiced up Shroom "Bacon" Burger

Ingredients:

  • 1½ pounds ground beef (at least 15% fat) or 4, 6 oz patties
  • 2 T House Blend
  • 2 L portobello mushrooms, trimmed and sliced (lengthwise)
  • 2 T Secret Sauce
  • 3 T olive oil, plus more as needed
  • 1 medium onion, peeled, sliced into rings
  • 4 L roasted red peppers
  • Muenster cheese slices (optional)
  • 4 soft burger buns, toasted

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425 F.
  2. Gently divide ground beef into 4 small piles of around 6 ounces each. Form into patties, set aside and cover at room temperature.
  3. Place mushrooms on a sheet pan in a single layer and evenly drizzle with olive oil. Generously season both sides of mushroom strips with Secret Sauce Seasoning Blend. Place into the air fryer and cook for 12-15 minutes at 400 F to desired crispness.
  4. Heat the olive oil over medium heat in a large, heavy skillet and add the onions.  Cook, stirring, until tender, 4 to 6 minutes. Cook, stirring often, until the onions have begun to soften, about 3 minutes. Add House Blend Seasoning and cook, stirring until lightly caramelized. Set aside, keep warm.
  5. Season both sides of each burger with Spiced Up’ House Blend. Place burgers on a hot sauté pan/cast iron skillet and cook without moving for about 3 minutes. Turn the patties over, place in the oven and continue to preferred temperature. Remove the burgers from the oven, allow to rest. If using cheese, lay slices on the patties while you toast the buns. Top the burgers with mushrooms, onions, and roasted pepper. Place on toasted buns and add your favorite condiments.
